The British Embassy in Moscow represents the British Government in its relations with the Russian Government and promotes the range of British interests in Russia through broadly based cooperation which is of benefit to both countries.

The embassy is split up into various different sections;

The Political Section of the Embassy promotes bilateral political relations between UK and Russia and works closely with the Russian Government to address international issues of concern. 

The Trade and Investment Section support British exports to, and investment in, Russia, providing a wide range of services to both British and Russian businesses. 

The Consular Section provides advisory services and help to British citizens in Russia. It issues British passports, and registers births and deaths of British subjects in Russia. 

The Visa Section issues entry clearances for foreign nationals wishing to travel to the UK. It provides advice on all aspects of UK immigration requirements. 

The Science and Innovation Section works to facilitate world class science and innovation collaboration between the UK and Russia.

Other sections at the Embassy include; The Press and Public Affairs Section, The Climate Security Section and the Defence Section.

UK-Russia In Action is an initiative which connects people, skills and ideas in the UK and Russia in order to develop modern, open, knowledge-based economies.

The programme aims to build jointly on our respective strengths, working together to enhance our global competitiveness.  Businesses, governmental and non-governmental bodies as well as universities are and will be working together in many different fields to deliver lasting prosperity for both nations.
